This is a systems and application operations position supporting the performance and availability of the multiplatform web applications and associated cloud application infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting AWS based application stacks with strong experience in AWS SysOps and SRE

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor network, server and web applications to ensure high availability
  • Open, update and close trouble tickets with detailed information relating to trouble reported
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of a wide range of applications and systems
  • Own production operational issues for products by issuing initial response, data gathering/diagnosis, tracking, and resolution where possible
  • Perform the role of Incident Manager during Application Outages
  • Assist Development and Infrastructure Groups with scheduled and emergency change management tasks
  • Administer Viacom’s CDN configurations to ensure optimal caching and traffic offload
  • Administer Viacom’s public DNS Infrastructure and day to day record management
  • Routine change request work for Viacom’s AWS Infrastructure using CloudFormation
  • Debug web application, iOS, Android, Roku, AppleTV, FireTV content issues
  • Debug HLS video streaming related issues
  • Skillset to automate and script day to day work

Your profile:

  • Experience supporting Linux/Unix based cloud environments and web applications
  • IT operational experience supporting robust e-commerce or Online Businesses in a 24x7 production environment
  • Experience with working on Puppet or Chef system design and module development
  • Strong understanding of internet protocols (e.g. HTTP, FTP, IMAP, POP, SMTP, DNS)
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills
  • Very good English

Your profile:

  • 4+ years of relevant professional experience plus a Master's degree in Computer Science (or related field) or equivalent professional experience combined with a Bachelor's degree

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design, architecture and deployment of virtualized technology infrastructure to deliver systems and services with high availability and reliability
  • Take part in the creation of policies and procedures for Viacom’s virtualized compute infrastructure and ensure standards are being followed
  • Participate actively in the planning of IT Infrastructure strategy to meet the company’s business goals
  • Analyze and resolve problems associated with Viacom’s virtualization infrastructure and all related systems
  • Manage Cisco UCS environment that VMWare is running on

Your profile:

  • Knowledge and experience with VMware vCenter/ESXi (Design/Build/Operations)

Responsibilities:

  • Taking responsibility for engineering highly secure and highly scalable solutions for applications systems that are hosted on premise or in public cloud (Azure, AWS or GCP)
  • Problem management and root cause analysis
  • Participating in on-call Windows Engineering escalation rotation, providing off-hours support in case of critical outages
  • Evaluating and developing ideas for how to improve Viacom’s Cloud & Compute Services processes including server provisioning/deprovisioning, change control, incident escalations, major outages, infrastructure automation, monitoring, inventory management, etc
  • Working collaboratively with the other Cloud & Compute services teams to standardize toolsets and workflows
  • Working collaboratively with L1 and L2 teams for ticket escalations as well as to help develop documentation
  • Working with other technical groups such as Development, DBAs, Storage, Virtualization and Networking to ensure that business requirements are met by using standard technologies and processes

Your profile:

  • 2+ years’ experience with Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Internet Information Services and Microsoft Power Shell Scripting
  • 2+ years’ experience with Power Shell DSC, J2EE technologies (Websphere/Tomcat) and using tools like Chef or Puppet for Windows environment
  • Experience with deploying Windows machines in Public Cloud (Microsoft Azure, AWS or GCP)
  • Understanding of Microsoft .NET and Operating Systems & Operating System Security
  • Hardware – Installing, Troubleshooting, Updating (Cisco UCS)
