You will have the opportunity to influence and set cloud strategies in the areas of automation, platforms, and products within the Cloud Engineering team. You will also be responsible for regularly reviewing Viacom’s security posture when it comes to use of Public Cloud in partnership with our Information Security team and implement recommendations based on output from Viacom’s security tool ecosystem.

Responsibilities:

  • Researching and developing future-state solutions and on-board new technologies that broaden and optimize the Cloud Infrastructure stack
  • Developing highly resilient GCP based solutions that account for failures within the technology stack, the region, and across various providers
  • Developing standard and re-usable orchestration modules (Chef) with a goal to reduce implementation time when used by our Cloud Engineering team
  • Working closely with other infrastructure teams to determine standards and guidelines for current and new technologies in the public cloud software stack
  • Developing security strategies by working closely with our InfoSec team and Cloud Architect (Cavirin, InSpec, RedLock, etc.)
  • Providing thought leadership across new implementations and cloud strategies
  • Leading the evaluation of new technologies and develop documentation and standards for future use
  • Driving the adaptation and implementation of containers with Kubernetes
  • Experience with Terraform in production and have a good understanding of Google Compute Engine, Google Cloud Storage, Google Virtual Private Cloud, Google Cloud Databases, Google Stackdriver Monitoring, etc.
  • Experience with Software Configuration Management tools such as Chef

Your profile:

  • 5+ years designing and supporting various web based solutions
  • 5+ years working in a Linux based environment
  • Extensive experience with creating workflow and infrastructure diagrams with Visio or comparable tools
  • Strong experience developing in Java, Python or Perl
  • Strong experience implementing security guidelines and procedures for use in Public Cloud at an enterprise scale along with practical experience in monitoring for compliance to these guidelines
  • 3+ years working on Chef system design and module development
  • 2+ years experience working with containers using Kubernetes.
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically about a problem and visualize various scenarios for an outcome, communicating any risks to management
  • Very good command of English

  • Introducing new CI/CD processes, technologies and tools
  • Recommending automation pipelines
  • Working closely with engineers of other specialties (including Cloud Engineers, Software Engineers, DBAs, Network Administrators) to ensure that business requirements are met, using the right tools for the job

Your profile:

  • 4+ years of relevant professional experience plus a Master's degree in Computer Science (or related field) or equivalent professional experience combined with a Bachelor's degree
  • Knowledge and experience of the technologies that enable software build automation and deployment
  • Good understanding of concepts like CI/CD, configuration management, cloud platforms, version control, automation, monitoring, analytics, contenerization and microservices architecture
  • High comfort in working with Linux environment and typical sysadmin tools
  • Advanced scripting skills (bash, python) with ability to use various compound data structures
  • Experience with software build automation for mobile platforms (iOS and Android) would be an advantage

Responsibilities:

  • Work and develop solutions within all aspects of the Cloud Infrastructure team’s products
  • Expert in design, implementation and support of efforts to utilize containers and automate operation processes
  • Design, develop and operationalize new processes such as on demand environment provisioning including delivery of systems with an Infrastructure as Code approach as part of the overall CI/CD solution
  • Be a significant contributor in the development of our (CI) / continuous delivery (CD) pipelines using tools such as, Docker, Git, Chef, Nexus, Jenkins, JUnit, Tomcat, SonarQube, Selenium, Cucumber, etc.
  • Build scalable architecture, knows how to build a pipeline into Jenkins.
  • Support the building of solutions for source control, continuous integration, and automated testing and release management
  • Have a thorough understanding of managing secrets with experience in the following: Kubernetes Secrets, Vault and KMS
  • Understand Service Discovery and used service discovery in production with tools like Consul or ETCd
  • Research and develop future-state solutions and on-board new technologies that broaden and optimize the Cloud Infrastructure stack
  • Work closely with the DB Engineering and Cloud Engineering teams
