Senior Engineer Database Administration – SQL Server

Paramount Tech in Warsaw plays a crucial role in Paramount`s global engineering organization. We build highly efficient, advanced systems which are used by millions of users all over the world. Currently, we are looking for a rock solid Senior Engineer Database Administration – SQL Server. The Senior SQL Server DBA will provide leadership for our enterprise SQL Server platform for Paramount Media Network’s U.S. market. This is a hands-on position requiring solid technical skills. You should be very comfortable with software installation, advanced server configuration, performance tuning, and routine maintenance activities. This role will also assist the Manager of Database Administration in some management functions as needed, including mentoring and overseeing our extended team’s activities. Your work must be accurate, timely, and insightful. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership for Microsoft SQL Server database platforms.
  • Explore future database technologies including Cloud platforms.
  • Provide troubleshooting and technical support for users.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance database administration and monitoring solutions.
  • Assist with dispatching tickets to appropriate resources.
  • Assist with shift handover tasks.
  • Assist with coordination of team members in various locations.

Your profile:

  • Hands-on experience and deep understanding of Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Very good English language skills (verbal and written).
  • 4+ years of experience in data engineering environments.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or other related discipline will be a plus.
  • Exposure to any of Oracle, MySQL, Postgres, Mongodb will be a plus.
  • Scripting skills will be a plus.

Nice to have:

  • Passionate about scalable and future-proof processes, systems and data analytics.
  • Any of: Tableau, SAP Webi, Python.
