Software Engineer - Windows

Responsibilities:

  • Taking responsibility for engineering highly secure and highly scalable solutions for applications systems that are hosted on premise or in public cloud (Azure, AWS or GCP)
  • Problem management and root cause analysis
  • Participating in on-call Windows Engineering escalation rotation, providing off-hours support in case of critical outages
  • Evaluating and developing ideas for how to improve Paramount’s Cloud & Compute Services processes including server provisioning/deprovisioning, change control, incident escalations, major outages, infrastructure automation, monitoring, inventory management, etc
  • Working collaboratively with the other Cloud & Compute services teams to standardize toolsets and workflows
  • Working collaboratively with L1 and L2 teams for ticket escalations as well as to help develop documentation
  • Working with other technical groups such as Development, DBAs, Storage, Virtualization and Networking to ensure that business requirements are met by using standard technologies and processes

Your profile:

  • 2+ years’ experience with Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Internet Information Services and Microsoft Power Shell Scripting
  • 2+ years’ experience with Power Shell DSC, J2EE technologies (Websphere/Tomcat) and using tools like Chef or Puppet for Windows environment
  • Experience with deploying Windows machines in Public Cloud (Microsoft Azure, AWS or GCP)
  • Understanding of Microsoft .NET and Operating Systems & Operating System Security
  • Hardware – Installing, Troubleshooting, Updating (Cisco UCS)
  • Experience deploying and troubleshooting Windows servers within a VMware virtualized environment
  • Experience creating systems and process documentation
  • Experience with system automation
  • Systems analysis, capacity planning and troubleshooting
  • Experience migrating applications from on premise to public cloud
  • Understanding of security fundamentals
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Very good command of English
