Senior Software Engineer (C++)

Paramount Tech in Warsaw plays a crucial role in Paramount`s global engineering organization. We build highly efficient, advanced systems which are used by millions of users all over the world. Currently, we are looking for a rock solid Senior Software Engineer (C++). We need someone with professional, hands-on experience in developing projects related to broadcast television distribution. You should be driven to deliver quality software suitable for the high-availability nature of television broadcasting

Responsibilities:

  • Develop essential content authoring, review, and playout applications
  • Build new and optimize already established systems
  • Conducting technical assessments of project requirements and resolving technically advanced problems
  • Keeping up to date with modern technologies and sharing the knowledge and guidance with less experienced team members

Your profile:

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience plus a Master?s degree in Computer Science (or related field) or equivalent professional experience combined with a Bachelor's degree
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience with C++ software development
  • Experience in building and debugging multithreaded software systems
  • Extensive knowledge of development in the Windows environment (Visual Studio)
  • Experience with source control systems such as Git
  • Strong understanding of code refactoring, unit testing, and best programming practices
  • Very good English language skills (verbal and written)

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with video compression (MPEG, H.264, HEVC) and audio compression (AC3, MP3) systems
  • Knowledge about uncompressed audio and video formats such as RGB, YUV, and PCM
  • Experience with performance optimization on the x86/x64 platform
  • Hands-on experience with C#, Java, HTML5, or JavaScript
  • Knowledge of computer graphics
  • Understanding of software development methods, particularly Agile / SCRUM
  • Experience in the Entertainment or Media industry
